Electra Services sells it security customer monitoring business to focus on its core business
1 November 2023 – Electra Limited, an electricity distribution business servicing the Kapiti and Horowhenua regions has agreed to sell the security customer monitoring business of its subsidiary Electra Services Limited to ADT New Zealand, a subsidiary of the Intelligent Monitoring Group Limited (IMG) based in Australia.
Dylan Andrews, Acting Chief Executive of Electra Limited, says “This reflects the business is focusing on investment in the core electricity distribution business. We need to ensure our business is ready to meet the increasing demand from our connected customers that look to electricity to power their homes, businesses, and transport as New Zealand transitions from fossil fuels.”
The transition of the SECURELY® branded security monitoring service will occur on 1 December 2023. This acquisition by IMG follows closely on the acquisition of ADT Australian and New Zealand business by IMG in August of this year.
Stephen Frame, General Manager of Electra Services, says “There will be minimal change for our clients; they shouldn’t notice anything other than a change in billing details. ADT operates with the highest quality security accreditation from its four significant monitoring stations on both sides of the Tasman.”
