Our BA5 are supported by the Horowhenua District Council, HNZT and Electra. These monthly gatherings provide the perfect opportunity for business owners to network, socialise, share experiences and make valuable business connections in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. You’ll also hear from some exciting and innovative speakers about national and international topics, and how these relate to Horowhenua.

Join us for an exclusive panel featuring three of New Zealand’s leading food producers as they share their journeys, challenges, and insights into supplying top brands and supermarkets. This evening is not just about food – the stories of these local business people will captivate and inspire you whatever your product is.
MARCH 2025 BA5 - STEVEN RENATA
Keynote speaker was Steven Renata, owner of KIWA Digital, a global leader in media localisation technology and immersive education applications and the emcee was Deputy Mayor David Allan of the Horowhenua District Council. Steven provided valuable insights into KIWA Digital’s innovative solutions, including VoiceQ, a leading-edge technology used for translating and synchronising dialogue to lip movements in films. VoiceQ has been instrumental in major projects, including translation to Te Reo for Disney films Moana and The Lion King, as well as the English adaptation of the hit Korean series Squid Game. KIWA Digital has worked with major NZ Government Departments and Councils.
FEBRUARY 2025 BA5 - ST JOHNS AMBULANCE
A speaker panel included St Johns and Jason Raman from MASH.
Over 100 Guests heard how the newly established ambulance station has transformed emergency response services in the region since opening in 2024. Jason shared an update on the in the currently in construction, Te Puna Tau Aroha and the new services that will be available to the community once completed.
Hannah Watson from Masonic Medical and Neville Gimblett from Levin Pharmacy spoke about their plans in the Health & Wellbeing Hub, opening late 2025 in Durham Street.
SEPTEMBER 2024 BA5 - YOUNG PROFESSIONALS PANEL
A "locals" speaker panel include Mariah Hori te Pa, who is currently working for Whāia Legal, as an Amo Ture (Associate). Dr Caitlin Bland who has taken a role with Health Hawkes Bay and Liam McLeavey who is a Manager at PwC New Zealand. Liam supports clients across the public, private and community sectors in the areas of strategy, transformation and social equity.
